A special camp for Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme beneficiaries in Coimbatore

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme is an initiative by the Government of India in which 120 million small and marginal Indian farmers who have less than 2 hectares of landholding will get Rs 6,000 per year as minimum income support.


The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme is an initiative by the Government of India in which 120 million small and marginal Indian farmers who have less than 2 hectares of landholding will get Rs 6,000 per year as minimum income support. 

The Central Govt had recently announced that the medium and large farmers are also eligible for the scheme. The amount of Rs 6,000 per year will be paid to each eligible farmer in three installments (Rs 2,000) and will be deposited directly to their bank accounts.

The following are excluded from the eligibility criteria:

All Institutional Landholders.

(B) Farmer families in which one or more of its members belong to the following categories.

i) Former and present holders of constitutional posts.

ii) Former and present Ministers/ State Ministers and former/present Members of Lok Sabha/ /Rajya Sabha State Legislative Assemblies/ State Legislative Councils, former and present Mayors of Municipal Corporations, former and present Chairpersons of District Panchayats.

iii) All serving or retired officers and employees of Central/ State Government Ministries /Offices/Departments and its field units Central or State PSEs and Attached offices /Autonomous Institutions under Government as well as regular employees of the Local Bodies (Excluding Multi Tasking Staff /Class IV/Group D employees)

iv) All superannuated/retired pensioners whose monthly pension is Rs.10,000/-or more (Excluding Multi Tasking Staff / Class IV/Group D employees) of the above category

v) All Persons who paid Income Tax in the last assessment year

vi) Professionals like Doctors, Engineers, Lawyers, Chartered Accountants, and Architects registered with Professional bodies and carrying out profession by undertaking practices.

The survey work of including the families of small, marginal, medium and large farmers as beneficiaries is under process. A special camp at Coimbatore is to be held on 09.07.2019 at all the Revenue divisional offices, Taluk offices, Revenue Department and Village Administration offices. On the day of the camp, the beneficiaries are requested to submit the details of their Patta, Aadhar number, Family card number, Bank account number and mobile number and avail the benefits from the scheme.
