Police launch greenery drive

The District Police have launched a greenery drive on the premises where their police stations and related buildings are located.

Superintendent of Police (SP) of Coimbatore District R.V. Ramya Bharathi launched it at the Armed Reserve quarters located at the Police Recruits School Ground in the city. Around 150 saplings were planted on Saturday.

Further, about 900 policemen, women and officers took part in the election sensitisation and postal ballot training programme conducted at the five sub divisions last week.

At the meetings, they were asked to cast their votes without fail and take precautions to ensure that their votes were valid.

They were also instructed on measures to be taken for peaceful conduct of the elections.

The programme will be conducted for more than 300 armed reserve personnel this week.
