BJP launches web portal to understand grievances of voters


Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state vice-president and the party's candidate from Coimbatore South, Vanathi Srinivasan, and the candidate from Singanallur C R Nandha Kumar will begin their campaigning on Sunday when the Union minister for urban development, M Venkiah Naidu, will visit the city. Meanwhile, Vanathi Srinivasan will launch a web portal on Tuesday to understand public demands in her constituency.

Vanathi is in-charge of the state committee for problems and issues detection and manifesto. "We launched a web portal for Tamil Nadu to understand voter grievances. We have received 3,000 petitions online from across the state," she said on Monday.

The state vice-president will be submitting a report in this regard to the party's national leadership on April 1. "The report will form the basis for our manifesto this election," Vanathi told TOI. "Most complaints were about bad roads, irregular water supply and corruption in state government offices," she said.

C R Nandha Kumar, the candidate from Singanallur too plans to launch a web portal for his constituency. "There are several civic issues in Singanallur like drainage and bad roads," he told TOI.

BJP has released the list of candidates for 54 out of the 234 constituencies in the state. When asked if the party was expecting to cobble up an alliance with some smaller parties, Vanathi Srinivasan said, "Yes, we are in talks with the Indhiya Jananayaga Katchi (IJK), New Justice Party and the Yadava Maha Sabhai for an alliance."
