College students form election symbol to create awareness


College students from Pollachi got together to form the election symbol in Coimbatore, on Wednesday, in order to create awareness among public and to ensure 100 percent turnout during the assembly elections on May 16.

More than 500 students from the Pollachi College of Arts and Science, and Pollachi College of Engineering and Technology stood in the formation of the election symbol at Pollachi, Coimbatore.

Presiding over the event, Gayathri Krishnan, Sub-Collector of Pollachi, said that the District Administration has been involving in many awareness campaigns in the district to ensure 100 percent voting in the district.



"We are using the help of the college students, who have been performing street plays and dramas, and are distributing pamphlets to create awareness," she said.

She further added that corporate companies are also involving in such campaigns to ensure that the word reaches all segments of the masses.
