Coimbatore: A special Gram Sabha meeting for social audit was held today (Sept.13) at the Gram Sevai building in Akkaraisengapalli Panchayat, Annur Union. The meeting was presided over by Panchayat President Sivagami Chinnasamy, with Panchayat Secretary Moorthy in attendance.
During the meeting, Social Audit Officer Kanagaraj presented and read out a report on the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Prime Minister's Housing Scheme) and the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) scheme. These central government initiatives aim to provide housing for the rural poor and ensure livelihood security in rural areas, respectively.
