Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner M Sivaguru Prabhakaran IAS inaugurated a special mass cleaning drive in Singanallur and Kallimadai areas under Ward 61 of the East Zone on September 21, 2024. The initiative aims to improve sanitation and public health.
Coimbatore: Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation Commissioner M Sivaguru Prabhakaran IAS inaugurated and inspected a special mass cleaning drive in the Singanallur and Kallimadai areas of Ward 61 in the East Zone on Saturday (September 21, 2024).

The Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation has been undertaking various cleanliness initiatives across its East, West, North, South, and Central zones for the benefit of the public.

As part of this ongoing effort, today's mass cleaning drive in Ward 61 of the East Zone covered areas including Singanallur, Kallimadai, Krishnapuram Layout, Trichy Main Road, Vinayagar Kovil Street, Raja Street, Nadu Street, and East Street.

More than 100 sanitation workers were deployed for the operation, which included cleaning sewers, removing construction debris from roads, preventing dengue mosquito breeding, fogging for dengue mosquito control, clearing accumulated soil from road medians, trimming tree branches interfering with electrical lines on both sides of the roads, removing unnecessary vegetation and bushes, and clearing weeds.

The event was attended by Corporation Deputy Commissioner K. Sivakumar, City Health Officer Dr. K. Boopathi, Assistant Commissioner Muthusamy, Executive Engineer Karuppasamy, Assistant Executive Engineer Bhuvaneswari, Ward Councilors Adhimaheswari, Bagyam, and Sumitra, Zonal Health Officer Vijayakumar, Sanitary Inspector Murugesan, and other corporation officials.
