The Tamil Nadu Assistant Agricultural Officers Association held its state executive committee meeting in Udumalaipettai, passing crucial resolutions on salary, legal actions, and organizational restructuring.
Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Assistant Agricultural Officers Association convened its state executive committee meeting at a private auditorium in Udumalaipettai, Tiruppur district. The event began with a welcome address by district president T. Vairamuthu, while state vice-president S. Balasubramanian presided over the meeting. State joint secretary R. Kannan was also present.
The meeting commenced with the presentation of the income and expenditure report, followed by the reading of the state president's written address to the executives. Subsequently, resolutions were proposed, and executives put forward their views on these resolutions.
Several key resolutions were passed during the meeting. These included forming a committee to prepare a report for the Satya Narayanan Committee on salary-related issues, intervening in the ongoing case filed by farmers regarding the Farmers Officer Contact Scheme 2.0, and urging the government to provide salary parity for assistant agricultural and horticultural officers with agricultural and horticultural officers, as well as promotion to the post of Assistant Director of Agriculture.
The association also decided to form a coordinated action committee on salary-related matters by integrating various associations such as the Assistant Horticultural Officers Association. More than 300 assistant agricultural officers from across Tamil Nadu participated in the meeting. New members who joined the association were presented with receipts and appreciated for their participation.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the district secretary, Balu.
