Inter-Faith Harmony Movement Mourns Murasoli Selvam's Demise

Haji J. Muhammad Rafi, leader of the Inter-Faith Harmony Movement, expresses condolences on the passing of Murasoli editor Murasoli Selvam. He praised Selvam's services as a voice for social justice and his contributions to the Dravidian movement.


Coimbatore: Haji J. Muhammad Rafi, a member of the Tamil Nadu Minorities Commission and leader of the Inter-Faith Harmony Movement, has expressed deep condolences on the passing of Murasoli editor Murasoli Selvam.

In a statement, Rafi said, "May the fame of Murasoli Selvam, who resonated as the voice of social justice, echo in all directions. Though he has departed physically, he will live permanently in our hearts. We pay our respects to Iyya Murasoli Selvam."

Praising the contributions of the Dravidian movements, Rafi stated, "The Dravidian movements have fought to eliminate inequalities in human society and promote equality. The Murasoli newspaper continues to voice tirelessly against social evils and highlights the social activities of the Dravidian movements."

Describing Selvam's contributions, Rafi said, "He stood out as a great personality recognized by the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam as a social justice journalist and a Dravidian movement writer. Murasoli editor Murasoli Selvam, who was at the forefront of the language struggle and one of the prominent leaders of the former Law College Students' Association, brought truth to light through his books like 'Sarkaria Commission - A Web of Conspiracy' and 'Some Memories'."

In conclusion, Rafi stated, "The Inter-Faith Harmony Movement expresses its deepest condolences to the family of Muthamizh Arignar Kalaignar, the Murasoli Group, the Dravidian movements, the people of Tamil Nadu, and Tamil hearts worldwide. We offer our tearful tribute to honor his memory."
