Coimbatore court extends suspected Maoists’ custody till April 27

The judicial custody of five suspected Maoists, lodged in the Central Jail in Coimbatore, was on Thursday extended up to April 27, 2016.

On expiry of the custody period, the suspected Maoists, including the couple Roopesh and Shyna, who were detained under the National Security Act, were produced before the District Principal Court on Thursday noon.

Judge (in-charge) Christopher extended their custody till April 27, 2016.

They were wanted in many cases in Kerala and also Tamil Nadu and were arrested from Karumathampatti in May 2015.
