Union environment minister Prakash Javadekar on Saturday blamed the ruling AIADMK government for not taking any step to save 'Kangeyam' bulls in the state. "We allotted Rs23 crore to save Kangeyam bulls in the state. But the AIADMK government did not take any step to save them. The fund was also not utilised," he alleged.
The BJP leader was in the city to campaign for saffron party. He also introduced party candidates for the district. Talking to reporters, he came down heavily on both AIADMK and DMK, saying they did not do anything for the state's welfare. "They ruled the state for the past 50 years in turns and still failed to provide basic amenities such as roads and other infrastructure for people," Javadekar said. He also took a dig at the two Dravidian parties for not taking any step to protect farmers.
The Union minister also slammed the state government for importing palm oil from Malaysia for ration shops. "The move hit the coconut growers in the state very badly," he said.
He assured that the long-pending Palani-Erode railway project will be executed if BJP was voted to power in the state. "We will implement all the Modi government's projects and schemes in the state if people gives mandate to BJP to rule the state," Javadekar added.
