The J Company

Coimbatore: The gaming avatar of Dheeraj Vaidya’s film Jil Jung Juk is trending on Google Playstore. “The pink car, the three heroes Jil (played by Siddharth), Jung (Avinash Raghudevan) and Juk (Sananth Reddy), the action and the gun sequences from the trailer inspired us to develop a game based on it,” says Deepak Aravind P of Creative Monkey Games & Technologies, a start-up based out of Coimbatore. Deepak and his team spent sleepless nights to develop the game that has an exciting mix of racing and action.

“The director was happy with our idea. The executive producer, Milind Rau, was very encouraging too. We tied up with actor Siddharth’s Ekati Entertainment for the game,” he says. The game released on February 11, a day before the release of the movie, has crossed 8,000 downloads. “It was trending at number one on racing games genre on Google Playstore and at number two at the overall games,” says Deepak.

Racing is a favourite genre for Deepak and his team. Another game, Chennai Auto Traffic Racers, developed by them has recently crossed one million downloads in Google Playstore.

“Actor Siddharth is known to encourage new ideas. And the team had a novel publicity approach. All the songs from the film easily crossed one million views on YouTube. We wanted to associate with the young production team of the film. And, it was a great opportunity to put Coimbatore in the limelight. Our production standards match up to any big studios in bigger cities. We wanted to prove that with Jil Jung Juk game,” says Deepak.

While most Hindi films build the pre-publicity hype with the launch of games, the trend is only now catching up in Tamil films. “We are happy to have made a start. As everyone carries a smart phone the reach is phenomenal, especially among youngsters,” he says.

The 3D racing game features 3D models of actor Siddharth, Sananth Reddy and Avinash Raghudevan. “We kept the game story in line with that of the film. Though there were no references to the characters, we had to justify the game. The players have a choice of vehicles and the weapon.”

The player has to drive the vehicle for the heroes Jil-Jung-Juk and help them escape from the enemies. He has to drive skilfully, avoid collision with other vehicles, and escape enemy bullets. It’s an infinite game, the longer you are alive better are your scores. A skilful player becomes the top scorer.

Deepak says it was challenging as the game had to live up to expectations.

“We were cautious that the game shouldn’t create negative publicity for the film. We also took into account the huge female fan following Siddharth has. Siddharth also played the game, tweeted it and the response has been amazing,” says Deepak.

The game is available for free in Google Play Store at this link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.creativemonkeygames.jjjracer. The iOS version of the game will be published in a week.
