Coimbatore: PSG College of Arts and Science emerged as the winners in the third edition of the ET in Campus Quiz that was held at the GRD College of Science in Coimbatore on Monday.
Coimbatore Institute of Technology is the first runner-up.
Nivin Krishnan P and Surya Narayanan P from PSG College of Arts and Science will participate in the south zone finals that will be held in Chennai on February 25. The ET in Campus Quiz 2016 has been organized in association with the Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) Business School.
Besides Coimbatore, the competition is also being organized at Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kochi and Trichy.
Around 276 teams from arts, science, engineering and management institutions in and around Coimbatore participated in the contest.
Quiz master Lloyd Saldhana hosted the contest here. The quiz kick-started with a preliminary round, where Saldhana had prepared 20 questions for excited participants. After a round of easy, tough and tricky questions, six teams qualified for the finals.
The six teams were: Nivin Krishnan P and Surya Narayanan P from PSG College of Arts and Science, Rahul Thangaraj and Uthresh Gobu from Coimbatore Institute of Technology, Manoj Kumar R and Tarun Kumar Mithruka V from PSG College of Technology, Gowtham S and Puneet J from Amrita University, Sai Prashanth N and Balakrishnan T from KTVR Knowledge Park for Engineering and Technology and Gayathri Giridhar and Liyana Ahmed from GRD College of Science.
Pro vice-chancellor of VIT University P Gunasekaran applauded the participants for showing interest in the quiz year after year. "I congratulate all the participants, and the finalists. It is a great experience for us to be in Coimbatore and organize this quiz contest for the students here," he said.
