The medical fraternity of Coimbatore region is holding an award ceremony at Hotel Le Meridien on Thursday evening. The governor of Tamil Nadu, K Rosaiah will be the chief guest of the function. The host committee will consist of Dr M Natarajan of Nataraj Hospital, Dr P Chindhambaram of Divya Nursing Home, Dr N S Jayaramn of Sowmiya Hospital and Dr P Raju of Kongu Nadu Hospital.
Foot over bridge erected at railway station: The Salem division of Southern Railway announced that they erected a foot over bridge between Morappur and Bommidi Railway Station in just three hours against the usual time of two to three days. It was ensured that there was not any disruption in the operation of trains in the route. The bridge is at 6.5 metres height from the track and three metres width, which will be easy to safely cross the tracks. The bridge was constructed at a cost of 1 crore.
