The Coimbatore urban and rural units of the Congress on Wednesday conducted interviews for party workers who had applied to contest the forthcoming Assembly election.
According to sources, Urban District president V.M.C. Manoharan and Rural district president K. Maheshkumar and Tamil Nadu Congress Committee nominee ‘Erode’ Muthu interviewed 90 workers who had applied to the TNCC expressing interest to contest election in the 10 Assembly constituencies in the district.
Two members were away and three did not turn up. The three interviewers asked the workers about their years of service in the party, the posts they had held and other relevant details.
Along with their replies and comments they would send the details to the TNCC president for further action, they said.
