Special blood donation camps held


A total of 2,133 drivers, conductors and staff of Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) in Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Tirupur and Erode attached to the Coimbatore Division donated blood on Sunday in a special blood donation drive organised in connection with the 68th birthday celebration of Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.

In Coimbatore, 652 TNSTC employees donated blood at special camps conducted at Ramalingaam Colony Corporation School and at the division headquarters of the transport corporation on Mettupalayam Road. Blood was donated to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital and two private hospitals.

MLAs Challenger Durai and T. Malaravan and Managing Director of the division R. Thangavelu were present at the inaugural of the camp.
