Coimbatore: Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa on Tuesday inaugurated the new centenary building at the Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital through video conferencing from Chennai.
The event was attended by three AIADMK sitting MLAs in the constituency -- Challenger Durai, T Malaravan and OK Chinnaraj. Mayor P Rajkumar and AIADMK district secretary Arun Kumar were also present.
The 3.25 lakh sq ft centenary building, built at a cost of almost Rs 62 crore, is expected to be up and running in next two months.
"Though the building is fully complete, equipment is yet to arrive," hospital dean Dr Edwin Joe said.
