The newly floated Abdul Kalam Vision India Party (AVIP) would examine contesting all the 234 Assembly constituencies in the coming elections, according to its founder V. Ponraj. The application to join the party was available online, he said here on Sunday.
The party would field candidates only in constituencies where it was able to find suitable candidates and would focus on sustainable development and inclusive growth.
According to him, he was not appropriating Kalam’s legacy.
Mr. Ponraj claimed that the late President favoured political involvement for socio-economic development.
