More than 1 lakh celebrate Mahashivarathiri at Isha Yoga Centre

More than 1 lakh devotees participated in the night long Mahashivarathiri celebrations at the Isha Yoga Centre near Vellingiri hills here on Monday.

The celebrations which began at 5.40 pm on Monday evening carried on till dawn on Tuesday.

Various artists including Sufi Singer Mukthiyar Ali and Carnatic fusion band Agam performed at the celebrations and various genre of music including Sufi, folk and classical were performed along with classical dances.

Actors including S.A.Chandrasekar, Mirchi Shiva, Parthiban, Nandha Anchor DD, singer Shoba Chandrasekhar and many others participated in the celebrations.

Spiritual Leader Sadhguru also lead a period of meditation during midnight and frequently gave spiritual sermons.

During the event Sadhguru said that people should not allow themselves to be succumbed by earth and withstand against the gravitation force to attain spirituality.

A grand Annadhanam was also served for people who had gathered at the celebrations.
