BNI Excellence celebrates International Women’s Day

The report card of the Business Network of Individuals (BNI) Excellence is more than just impressive.

This chapter has generated business worth Rs.2 crores with a total of 84 business referrals in the last week. Today this chapter, consisting of about 40 members including caterers, jewellery retailers, hostellers, entrepreneurs, and event planners among others, celebrated the International Women's Day.

Hemalatha Annamalai was the special invitee at today's special Women's Day celebration. Hemalatha turned entrepreneur at the age of 27. Her first few ventures were in professional services, technology training, tours and ticketing, and an international consultancy for talent acquisition. As a serial entrepreneur, Hemalatha spent the last 15 years creating and driving entrepreneurial ventures. She says that since each day in entrepreneurship is different with its own set of challenges and victories, the experience has been rewarding.

"It is a pleasure to be apart of this BNI. Coimbatore has several BNI chapters. However, this one is truly different. Having a happy family is the foundation of a successful entrepreneur. Only when you move out of your comfort zone, will you grow," Hemalatha said.

The Women's Day celebration meeting of the BNI was attended by 80 visitors. A majority of them was women entrepreneurs who networked with each other and exchanged business ideas. 'This is the first time I'm attending a BNI meeting. I'm happy that I have participated in the Women's Day meeting. I'm a homemaker. Just by watching other women entrepreneurs do well, I'm motivated to start a business," Anandi Shivkumar said.
