The district administration on Wednesday launched a WhatsApp number for members of the public to report poll violations.

A release from the district administration said that members of the public could send messages to 94980-95500. The messages would reach the control room and from there to the officers/teams concerned for immediate action.

This would be in addition to the 1800-425-5141 for calls and [email protected] for complaints.

The administration had constituted flying squads, static surveillance teams, video surveillance teams, accounts teams and few others to ensure the strict implementation of the Model Code of Conduct and smooth conduct of elections, the release added.
