Jamat E Islami Hind volunteers creating awareness among voters not to sell their votes for cash at a human chain they conducted at Kuniamuthur in Coimbatore on Sunday.
Members of the Jamat E Islami Hind on Sunday organised a human chain to highlight the unity in diversity and importance of voting.
A release from the organisers said that it wanted to promote social harmony and also tell voters that it was important that they exercised their franchise without selling votes.
In the rally that saw the participation of around 200 persons, a few members also conducted programmes to tell the voters that they should not sell their votes and how a few corporate companies grabbed land from poor farmers and those corporate companies mined resources meant for the people.
The organisation formed the human chain with the motto ‘nation for all’, the release added. Syed Ibrahim, district president, led the human chain.
