KMCH opens new branch

The Kovai Medical Centre and Hospital (KMCH) has opened a new branch called KMCH city center on Vivekananda Road at Ram Nagar. The centre will primarily focus on cardiac care centre, hospital authorities informed. They said the aim is to serve thousands of heart patients, who live in the North and Western parts of the city so that they don't lose the golden hour in case of a heart attack. Built at a cost of 25 crore, the hospital has been equipped with a modern cath lab and full-fledged cardiology department. It also has other specialty departments like ENT, general medicine, diabetology, dentistry, general surgery and pediatrics.

Jewellery brand recognized: A city-based popular jewellery brand, Kirtilals, has been recognized as one of the 'Great places to work at' in the country in terms of the retail companies. The list was recently released by the Great Place to Work Institute India in partnership with Retailers Association of India.

College creates world record: Sri Ramakrishna Hospital created a new Guinness World Record on Saturday by getting the most number of people to sign up for organ donation. The drive conducted at the campus from 8am to 4pm reportedly got 13,439 people to register themselves as organ donators. A large number of people who signed up included staff and student from Sri Ramakrishna education institutions, PSG institutions, Sri Krishna Institutions and other city-based colleges.

Alumni centre organises centenary celebrations: Prof P R Ramaswami centenary celebrations organised by the principal, president and members of the GCT alumni association began on Monday and will go on till Tuesday evening at GCT alumni centre. The chief guest for the function will be R Vijayakumhar, managing trustee SNR Sons Charitable Trust. The programme will include exhibition of structural, geo-technical and environmental engineering.

World Water Day celebrated: Sankara College of Science and Commerce celebrated 'World Water Day 2016' on March 21 at Sankara Education Institutions in Saravanampatty. The programme is being conducted by the college's NSS and Eco Club.

First Graduation Day celebrated: Rathinam Technical Campus celebrated their first Graduation Day on March 19 at Rathinam auditorium. The chief guest for the function was Divisional Railway Manager of Southern Railway, Palghat, Anand Prakash.
