Arumugapandi bowls a dream spell to ensure SNR Sons win against Wings Cricket Club

Coimbatore: V Arumugapandi bowled a magical spell to bundle out Wings Cricket Club for 172 runs which helped SNR Sons Trust Sports Club register a 32-run victory over Wings Cricket Club in the TNCA-CDCA II Division league match held at the Coimbatore Institute of Technology, on Sunday.

Batting first, SNR scored 205 in their 50 overs for the loss of 9 wickets (Sri Ram Ishwar 35, S.Sachin 32, Arun Kumar 40, M Arjun 37) beat Wings Cricket Club 172 in 37.2 overs (T Gopinath 53, J Vivek Peter 34, Nithin Muthu Alexander 33, V Arumugapandi 7/44).

In yet another II Division match at Rathinam College grounds, Rajasekar Mani MCC registered their second consecutive win of the season. Winning the toss and electing to bat, they lost their top order batsmen in the early overs and it was the middle order batsmen who helped the team recover to notch a decent 249 on the scoreboard (K Perumalsamy 89, L Imran Khan 33, G Chokkalingam 3/35, M Gopalakrishnan 3/38).

Chasing the target, Suryabala Cricketers lost four early wickets within the Powerplay. Though the young middle order batsmen fought hard for a victory, they fell short of the required victory target by 45 runs and just managed to reach 205 in 41.5 Overs (N Dinesh Kumar 48, M Vignesh Kumar 63, M Gopala Krishnan 38, K Siva Kumar 3/38).

In a first division match between Kovai Knights and Suryabala CC at PSG IMS ‘A’, Kovai Knights scored 221 in 49.2 overs ( R Sri Neranjan 59, S Vijay 33, T Veeramani 31, AR Bhupesh Raj 3/40) defeating Suryabala CC 178 in 45.5 Overs (G Maharaja 74*, P Saravana Kumar 3/26, M Sarath Kumar 3/29, A Karuppusamy 3/31).
