Coimbatore: After 57 years, Coimbatore is hosting the 36th Youth national basketball Championship (Boys and Girls Under 16) here at the PSG Tech indoor sports complex from Tuesday.
Coimbatore: After 57 years, Coimbatore is hosting the 36th Youth national basketball Championship (Boys and Girls Under 16) here at the PSG Tech indoor sports complex from Tuesday.

Organised by Basketball Federation of India along with Tamil Nadu Basketball Association, the tournament will be featuring teams from 25 states across the country.

Around 700 players and 60 top jurors from various states in the country will be part of the 36th Youth national basketball Championship.

The tournament was inaugurated on Tuesday by L. Gopalakrishnan, Managing Trustee of PSG Charity Institutions with K Govindaraj, President of Basketball Federation of India presiding over the function.

The tournament will be held from May 14-21.
Day 1 - May 14
Twenty matches were played here at the Indoor complex at PSG. The matches are being conducted in three venues - PSG Indoor complex, Sarvajana School and PSG medical college.

Players for indian junior men and women teams will be selected for the coaching camp, on the basis of their performance in this championship.
