Coimbatore: Tamil Nadu girls team continued their winning run, as they sealed Maharashtra for 68-50 today at the 36th youth national basketball Championship held in PSG Tech indoor sports complex on Wednesday.
Coimbatore: Tamil Nadu girls team continued their winning run, as they sealed Maharashtra for 68-50 today at the 36th youth national basketball Championship held in PSG Tech indoor sports complex on Wednesday.

Dominating from the beginning, the Tamil Nadu girls team won their first game against Madhya Pradesh and registered their consecutive victory with a 18 point win over Maharashtra (68-50). Sathya was the top scorer (28 pts) for Tamil Nadu.

In another tight match between the defending champions in the girls category. Kerala girls surprised the trophy holders, as they went on to beat Punjab by just one point lead. Kerala defeated Punjab 76-75. Anin Mary scored 25 points which helped them to seal the mighty Punjab.

In boys category, the defending champions registered their second win of the championship by defeating Karnataka by 2 points in a close contest. Rajasthan (65) defeated Karnataka (63). Digvijay Singh scored 22 points for Rajasthan.
