Two, Including a Minor, Booked for Midnight Wheelie Stunts at Coimbatore’s Kavundampalayam Flyover

Coimbatore: Police have registered cases against two individuals, including a minor, for allegedly performing dangerous motorcycle stunts on the Kavundampalayam flyover along Mettupalayam Road and filming the acts for social media.

Following complaints and the circulation of videos showing a motorcyclist allegedly lifting the bike’s front wheel in a wheelie, Kavundampalayam police intensified surveillance in the area. The stunt reportedly took place on the flyover stretch between Cheran Nagar Junction and Sanganoor Road Junction.

Police found that another individual had allegedly followed the motorcyclist on a scooter and recorded the stunt on a mobile phone to upload it to social media.

Cases were registered against Santhosh, 21, of Sundaram Street in C.T.D. Colony, R.S. Puram, and a 17-year-old boy in connection with the incident.

Police said the alleged stunts endangered public safety and put other motorists at risk. Legal action has been initiated concerning the vehicles used, and notices have been issued to those involved.
