Coimbatore: Coimbatore's Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) bagged the 'TERI-IWA-UNDP Water Sustainability Award 2022-23' under the Excellence in Water Use Efficiency in Agricultural Sector.
The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), New Delhi is an independent, multi-dimensional organization and has initiated Water Sustainability Awards which aims to encourage the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) on water by way of reducing water footprint among various stakeholders through the adoption of the ‘water neutrality' approach.

On behalf of Dr. V Geethalakshmi, Vice-Chancellor, TNAU, Dr. A Raviraj, Dean (Agricultural Engineering) and Dr. N Senthil, Dean (SPGS) received the award from the Chief Guest, Dr. Kiran Bedi, Founder and Mentor – Navjyoti Foundation.
Bharat Lal, Director General, National Centre for Good Governance and Former Mission Director and Debashree Mukherjee, Special Secretary, Ministry of Jal Shakti and Dr. Syamal Kumar Sarkar, Distinguished Fellow and Senior Director, TERI were present during the award conferment ceremony held at TERI, New Delhi on the eve of World Water Day 2023.
