The tenth edition of AGRONOVA 2023, a National Level Agricultural Inter College Competition was organized by the Dean (Agriculture), AC and RI, TNAU, Coimbatore during 11th and 12th July 2023.
Coimbatore: The tenth edition of AGRONOVA 2023, a National Level Agricultural Inter College Competition was organized by the Dean (Agriculture), AC & RI, TNAU, Coimbatore during 11th and 12th July 2023. The theme identified for this year was“Agriculture 4.0 – The Future of Farming”. The competition hosted several team events namely Agro touting, Farm Frenzy, Agri Hackathon, etc.
The Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), New Delhi supported E-YUVA centre functioning in the Department of Plant Biotechnology, Centre for Plant Molecular Biology & Biotechnology, TNAU, co-organised the Agri hackathon event held on 12.07.2023.
Agri Hackathon is a business plan competition in which the undergraduate students with startup ideasparticipated as a team. Eleven teams from TNAU constituent and affiliated colleges presented their startup ideas. The innovative ideas presented in the competition include LAFA (an interface to connect agricultural labourers and farmers), donkey farming, millet based milk, organic mask, credit support marketing, freshogreens, etc.
The idea entitled “Biomass Briquettes from Invasive species” was announced as the winning startup idea and the winners of the Agri Hackathon event are S. Manivel and M. Bhuvanaeshwaran, students of Forest College & Research Institute, Mettupalayam.
