Coimbatore: With second season in Ooty about to begin, the Southern Railway has announced special train service between Mettupalayam (MTP) and Ooty from October 5. The daily train service will be operated from MTP to Ooty at 7:15 am.
Coimbatore: With second season in Ooty about to begin, the Southern Railway has announced special train service between Mettupalayam (MTP) and Ooty from October 5. The daily train service will be operated from MTP to Ooty at 7:15 am.
Presently, there is only one daily train operating from MTP to the Nilgiris, hence the tourists are forced to wait several months to book their seats. Following repeated requests from the tourists, the Railway Administration has introduced additional train service to cater to the needs of the tourists in the upcoming second season.
While the existing train will leave at 7.15 am from MTP, the newly introduced train will leave at 9.10 am from MTP station from October 5 onwards.
The Southern Railway has announced that the mountain rail service will operate at special rates on weekends.
The reservations for these trains will commence from today, September 21.
