Issuance of Railway e-pass commence from.10 pm, today

Chennai: As all train passengers are advised to obtain e-pass prior to their journey, the Tamil Nadu State government has begun to issue online e-passes starting from 10 PM of May 31.

All passengers who have booked tickets in four special trains – Mayiladuthurai – Coimbatore, Villupuram – Madurai, Trichy – Nagercoil and Katpadi – Coimbatore special trains are requested to get e-pass before commencing journey through https://TNepass.tnega.org.

However, passengers travelling from Salem to Coimbatore need not obtain an e pass, as both the arrival and departure stations belong to the same zone. To the contrary, it is mandatory to obtain an e-pass to travel from Katpadi to Salem/Erode.

Zone wise classifcation:

Zone I: Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Erode, Tiuppur, Karur, Salem and Namakkal

Zone II: Dharmapuri, Vellore, Tirupattur, Ranipet and Krishnagiri

Zone III: Villupuram, Tiruvannamalai, Cuddalore and Kallakuruchi

Zone IV: Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur,Thanjavur, Thiruchi, Ariyalur,

Perambalur and Pudukottai

Zone V: Dindigul, Madurai, Theni, Virudhunagar, Sivagangai and Ramanathapuram

Zone VI: Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli, Kanniyakkumari and Tenkasi

Zone VII: Tiruvallur, Chengalpattu and Kancheepuram

Zone VIII: Chennai city
