A letter addressed by the GM of Southern Railways to the Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu reads, "Further to the official notification dated 27/06/2020, Railway Board vide letter dated 14/07/2020, based on the request of Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu, has approved that the special trains running within Tamil Nadu which have been cancelled from 29/06/2020 to 15/07/2020 may be further cancelled till 31/07/2020."
Accordingly, the following special trains running within Tamllnadu will be cancelled till 31/07/2020
1. Tiruchirapalli- Chengalpattu - Tiruchchirappalli SF Intercity via Vridhachalam
2. Madurai - Villupuram - Madurai
3. Coimbatore - Katpadi - Coimbatore
4. Tiruchirapalli- Chengalpattu - Tiruchirapalli via Mayiladuthurai
5. Arakkonam - Coimbatore -Arakkonam SF Intercity
6. Coimbatore - Mayiladuthurai- Coimbatore Janshatabdi
7. Tiruchirappalli - Nagercoil - Tiruchirappalli SF
However, it has been stated that the MGR Chennai Central - New Delhi - MGR Chennai Central Rajdhani Special will be continued.
