Coimbatore Collector declares August 31 as local holiday on occasion of Onam

Coimbatore: As Onam falls on August 31 this year, Coimbatore Collector has declared a local holiday on that day for all the State Government offices.

A press release by the Collector reads, "As Onam falls on August 31 this year, it has been declared a local holiday on that day for all the State Government offices. To compensate for this local holiday, all the offices will function on September 12 (Saturday).

On the day of local holiday, Treasury and Sub Treasuries in the district will function with limited officials.

It is requested that people celebrate Onam with all the COVID norms in place in order to avoid infections"
