Pollachi Masaniamman Temple will be closed for midnight pooja and offerings on Ammavasai - Temple administration

Coimbatore: Due to the ongoing Covid-19 threat, the temple administration of famed Masaniamman Temple in Anamalai, Pollachi has announced that on December 13, on the occassion of Ammavasai, the temple will be closed by 8 pm. The customary midnight offerings and poojas will remain cancelled, until further notice.



Coimbatore: Due to the ongoing Covid-19 threat, the temple administration of famed Masaniamman Temple in Anamalai, Pollachi has announced that on December 13, on the occassion of Ammavasai, the temple will be closed by 8 pm. The customary midnight offerings and poojas will remain cancelled, until further notice. 

On Ammavasai day, several thousands  of devotees would visit the Maasaniamman temple where midnight poojas and offerings will be conducted in a customary manner. However, since March, the temple administration has not been conducting the midnight festivity, owing to the pandemic situation and to avoid over crowding of people.  

In a bid to avoid devotees returning back disappointed, ahead of the event the  temple board has informed the public that the temple will be only open between 6 am to 8 pm on December 13. And, no midnight functions will be held.  

The public are requested to wear face masks and maintain social distancing at all times during their temple visit, the temple board has requested.
