Coimbatore: Special trains to be operated via Pollachi and Udumalpet. Trains are being operated from Coimbatore and via Coimbatore to various districts and states. But there were no trains running via Pollachi and Udumalpet.
This disappointed the people in the area and they requested the railway administration to run a train through Pollachi and Udumalpet. 8 months later a special train was run from Chennai to Palakkad via Pollachi and Udumalpet which made the people area happy. This is to be followed by another train via Pollachi and Udumalpet which will run daily from 23rd, Wednesday.
According to the information provided by the Southern Railway, the train will leave Thiruvananthapuram at 8.30 pmand reach Pollachi at 5.57 amthe next day via Kollam, Kayamkulam, Thrissur and Palakkad. Train will depart from here at 6 amand reach Udumalpet at 6.28 am. It will depart from Udumapet at 6.30 amand reach Madurai via Palani and Dindigul.
This train will leave Madurai at 4.45 pm on Thursday, the 24the and reach Udumalai at 7.13 amvia Dindigul and Palani. It will depart at 7.15 amand reach Pollachi at 7.37 am. The train will leave Pollachi at 7.40 amand reach Thiruvananthapuram via Palakkad, Kayamkulam, Kollam at 5.20 pm on the 25th.
