Works to collect building waste in 5 corporations vehicles have been intensified

Coimbatore: Works to collect building waste in 5 corporation vehicles have been intensified in Coimbatore. There are more than 5,000 streets in 100 wards in five zones under the Coimbatore Corporation.

In many parts of the corporation, construction work is underway to renovate old buildings and construct new ones. This leads to accumulation of building waste. Steps are being taken to remove building waste on behalf of the corporation. To this end, five light vehicles per vehicle per zone are being involved in the collection of building waste on behalf of the Corporation.

Corporation officials said, "Building waste collection work has been started with these vehicles. Up to 50 tons of building waste is collected daily. These building wastes are to be dumped in the quarries that are left useless in the district. Strict action will be taken against those who dump building waste on roadsides and other areas."
