Coimbatore: With the State assembly elections to happen in Tamilnadu from April 6th, here is the list of the events.
Nominations can be filed from 12th March till 19 th March excluding holidays on Saturday and Sunday. All the submitted nominations will be reviewed on 20th March and the last date to take back the nominations is on 22nd March. The election results will be announced on 2nd May.
Election Nominations can be filed from 11 am in the morning till 3 pm in the evening.
The Nominations from the 10 assembly constituencies in Coimbatore can be filed at the following venues:
Mettupalayam
Nominations can be filed at the Mettupalayam Tahsildar Office to the Mettupalayam Election Officer Kumaresan (District Supply and Consumer Protection Officer).
Sulur
Nominations for the Sulur Constituency can be filed at the Sulur Tahsildar Office with Sulur Election Officer VS Shanthi (Assistant Commissioner -Urban Tax).
Kavundampalayam
Nominations for the Kavundampalayam Constituency can be filed at the Kavundampalayam Revenue Tahsildar Office with Election Officer Ravichandran (Coimbatore North Revenue Commissioner).
Coimbatore North
Nominations for the Coimbatore North Constituency can be filed at the Agricultural Engineering Expansion Center, Thadagam. Murugesan (Deputy Collector (Social Security Scheme) is the Election Officer for the Coimbatore North constituency.
Thondamuthur
Nominations for the Thondamuthur Constituency can be submitted at the Perur Tahsildar Office. Coimbatore South Revenue Commissioner Senthil Arasan is the Election Officer.
Coimbatore South
Nominations for the Coimbatore South Constituency can be filed at the Central Assistant Corporation Commissioner Office. Assistant Commissioner for Central Zone Shiva Subramaniam is the Election Officer for the Coimbatore South constituency.
Singanallur
Nominations for the Singanallur constituency can be filed at the East Zone Assistant Corporation Commissioner's Office with Election Officer Ram Kumar (District Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Officer).
Kinathukadavu
Nominations can be filed at the Tahsildar Office to Election Officer Amsaveni (District Backward Classes and Most Backward Classes Welfare Officer).
Pollachi
Nominations can be filed at the Pollachi Sub Collector's Office to the Pollachi Sub-Collector Vaidhiyanathan who is also the Election Commissioner of the constituency.
Valparai
Nominations can be filed at the Anamalai Tahsildar Office with Election Officer Duraisamy (District Inspection Officer).
Only 2 members will be able to get inside the election officials office due to Covid-19 restrictions.
Candidates belonging to the general category are requested to pay to 10,000 rupees and candidates from scheduled category are requested to pay rupees 5,000 in cash or cheque.
