Commissioner Kumaravel Pandian advicied the public to wear face masks and adhere to social distancing guidelines.
Coimbatore: Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner P Kumaravel Pandian today requested the public to extend full cooperation to prevent the spread of Covid-19 infection in Coimbatore.
He said that "Corporation Officials are taking various preventive measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19 pandemic. Those who are infected with Covid-19 are isolated in their homes and are not allowed to leave their homes.
People who are isolated in the house are not allowed to buy essentials. Hence the corporation has appointed volunteers to help them buy essentials. If more than 3 houses on the same street are affected by the virus then the whole street is made as a containment zone and will be monitored.
Public and residential welfare associations are requested to provide full cooperation for activities such as isolation and vaccination. Weekly markets in areas where the spread of the disease is high, are shut down completely to avoid congestion.
Restaurants, bakers and various other shops will be sealed, if the public are seen gathering without proper face masks or gathering without maintaining social distancing." He said.
Corporation Commissioner then asked the corporation Officials to ensure that all people wear masks, adhere to social distance, wash their hands frequently with soap and water and cooperate fully with the corporation to contain Covid-19.
