Updated draft of Voters list released at Collectorate

As proposed by the Election Commission of India, the updated and the corrected draft versions of the voters list pertaining to the 10 assemblies of Coimbatore District were released at the Collectorate, today.

District Collector, N. Hariharan and Coimbatore District Election Officer Christudas jointly released the list and the members of political outfits collected it from them. In a press meet post-release, District Collector stated that the list has been updated till 01.09.2016 and as per the records the district holds 28 lakh 35 thousand voters, in total, comprising of, 14,09,840 male voters and 14,25,119 female voters. 

Special counters will be formed at all Government schools, offices and voting booths on 11.09.2016 to facilitate people to add their names, amend spellings and address to the voters list.

The public are advised to collect the necessary amending forms from the Divisional and Taluk offices on all working days. The final draft of the voters list would be revealed on 05.01.2017.
