Police Commissioner orders sudden transfer of 308 police officials to different police stations in Coimbatore

Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Metropolitan Police Commissioner, Deepak Tamor has ordered the transfer of 308 policemen from 15 police stations in the city to other police stations within Coimbatore.


Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Metropolitan Police Commissioner, Deepak Tamor has ordered the transfer of 308 policemen from 15 police stations in the city to other police stations within Coimbatore.

In Coimbatore, there are 15 police stations in Race Course, Kattoor, Peelamedu, Ukkadam, Kuniyamuthur, Variety Hall Road, Saravanampatti, Singanallur, Ratnapura, R.S. Puram, Ramanathapuram, Saibaba Colony and Selvapuram. More than 2,000 police are on duty in the city alone.

Police Commissioner Deepak Tamor issued an order on Tuesday night transferring 308 policemen who had been working in the same police station for more than 3 years to 15 other police stations in Coimbatore. It has been reported that the transfers have been ordered for Constables right upto Special Sub-Inspectors.
