The Nilgiris: Due to incessant rains in the Nilgiris district, the operation of Nilgiri Mountain Railway (NMR) which was cancelled for a brief time has been extended till December, 21.

The track between Kallar -Coonoor railway stations continues to get obstructed by landslides, uprooted trees and fallen boulders. In view of these, the Mettupalayam – Udagamandalam – Mettupalayam train services will remain cancelled till Dec, 21, 2021.

However, the NMR services between Coonoor – Udagamandalam will continue to be operated, as usual, confirmed a release from Salem Railway Division.
