District Collector warns of strict action against money launderers spreading fake news through OLX app for non-existent vacancies in Cooperative banks

The Coimbatore District Collector, G S Sameeran warned that appropriate criminal action will be initiated against those indulging in criminal activities through the OLX app as well as for indulging in money laundering by spreading false news.


Coimbatore: The Coimbatore District Collector stated in a press release issued here that the recruitment of candidates for vacant posts in Cooperative banks is being advertised and done illegally through the OLX app to make quick money.

"We are hearing that people are being recruited for vacancies in Cooperative banks in Salem, Ammapet, Omalur, Mettur, Anthiyur, Bhavani, Gobichettipalayam, Perundurai, Tirupur, Ettimadai, Karamadai, Namakkal, Senthamangalam, Paramathi, Vellore, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri and Hosur. It is reported that candidates are being selected for the above vacancies and interviews are being conducted for the same. The deposit amount that has to be paid for the purpose of the job is advertised through the OLX app and those interested are asked to contact the mobile number 8220433363. All these are completely false news. Do not be fooled by the false information spread through the OLX app and do not give your money or possessions to anyone believing that the jobs in the Cooperative banks are vacant. If any of the public gives money and property to anyone, on the basis of the false information spread above, you will be cheated. At present, no notification has been issued through the District Recruitment Centre of the Cooperative Department to fill up any of the vacancies in the Cooperative institutions," added the Collector in the press release.

The District Collector G S Sameeran warned that appropriate criminal action will be initiated against those indulging in such criminal activities and strict action will be taken against those indulging in money laundering by spreading false news.
