Water gushes in Birla Waterfalls due to heavy rains: public banned

Due to heavy rains in Valparai and surrounding areas for the past few days, water has been gushing out in Birla Waterfalls. Due to this, the public and tourists are prohibited from going along the banks of the river.



Coimbatore: Due to heavy rains in Valparai area, water is gushing out at Birla Waterfalls and people have been barred from entering the area.



It has been raining heavily in the estate areas around Valparai and due to this heavy rain, the rivers have been flooded.

Due to this, the settlements on the banks of the river should be safe for the people. It has been advising the public through vehicle loudspeakers not to allow the public and tourists to go to the river area.

Valparai recorded 7.1 cm of rainfall, Sholayar dam recorded 7.2 cm of rainfall, Neerar dam recorded 8.2 cm of rainfall and Chinnakallar recorded the highest rainfall of 11.6 cm.

Due to this rain, the Koozhangal river has been flooded and water is gushing out in Birla Waterfalls. In this situation, the public and tourists have been advised not to go to the banks of the river.
