In a statement, the District Collector said,
On the occasion of the birth centenary celebrations of former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, a massive educational loan scheme will be held in the presence of Pollachi MP K Shanmugasundaram to provide education loans to students of Pollachi parliamentary constituency to pursue higher studies.
Accordingly, the students of Udumalpet, Madathukulam, Pollachi Valparai and Anaimalai taluks will be organized on Wednesday, 16.08.2023 from 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. at the premises of Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology, Udumalpet Road, Pollachi.
Similarly, a mega education loan camp will be held at Karpagam University, Echanari from 8.00 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, 18.08.2023 for the students of Kinathukadavu, Thondamuthur and Sulur taluks.
Vidyalakshmi, a website has been developed and educational loans are being disbursed to a deserving student who feels that economics should not be a barrier to pursuing higher studies.
Certificate courses (ITIs), diploma courses, degree courses, arts and science courses and vocational courses which can be studied after completing 10th and 12th courses are provided with educational loans.
All the students who get allotment in administrative quota and counselling are eligible for education loan. Students who are enrolled in colleges under management quota should have secured 60 per cent marks in general category and 50 per cent marks for SC/ST and girls. There are no these marking limits for students enrolling through counselling.
Students who want to avail education loans have aadhaar card and PAN card. Class 10 mark sheet, class 12 mark sheet, bank account number, college admission order, proof that he is a student of Bonofide, It should be posted on the website "Vidyalakshmi" along with documents such as proof of college expenses, caste certificate, income proof, first graduate certificate etc.
There is no need to pay any collateral up to Rs 4 lakh to get an education loan. Only a third-party warranty signature between Rs 4 lakh and Rs 7.50 lakh is sufficient. The property has to be furnished as collateral equivalent to the loan amount above Rs 7.50 lakh.
