Owing to Aravaan temple festival, traffic re-routed on Dec 28

Coimbatore : The city traffic police department have announced changes in traffic for one day on December 28, due to Aravan temple function which is situated on Kurichi Chettipalayam Privu on Pollachi main road.

Coimbatore : The city traffic police department have announced changes in traffic for one day on December 28, due to Aravan temple function which is situated on Kurichi Chettipalayam Privu on Pollachi main road. 

The traffic diversions will be implemented on December 28 between 10 am to 10 pm in the following routes: 

Heavy vehicles enroute to Pollachi will be re-routed through Aathupaalam to reach Podanur-Kuruchi Pirivu. The vehicles will have to take a left turn towards Podanur market area via Rail Kalayana Mandapam, Podanur New Flyover and reach Chettipalayam. From there, the vehicles can use the usual route to reach the desired destinations. 

All light weight vehicles travelling towards Pollachi from Ukkadam have to travel via Aathupaalam and then turn left on Podanur-Kuruchi road and use Podanur market area, Rail Kalayana Mandapam, Saradha Mill road, Tomato Market and then reach Pollachi main road. 

Similarly, heavy vehicles and buses enroute from Pollachi to Coimbatore will have to use Malumichampatti road to reach Madukkarai market area - Pillayar Junction and then turn left towards Sugunapuram and reach Palakkad road. And, from there take the Puttuvikki road - Sedhumavaaikal check post and reach Ukkadam. 

And, all light vehicles enroute to Coimbatore from Pollachi can use the Madukkarai market road - Pillayar Junction and turn left towards Sugunapuram. Alternatively, use the Madukkarai market road - turn left on Machampalayam road - Gnanapuram and join the Palakkad main road. 

The traffic police department have advised the people to co-operate towards this temporary traffic diversion to ensure hassle free movement of traffic.
