Construction of lift at Maruthamalai Murugan temple - The Chief Minister flags of construction virtually

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin inaugurated the renovation works of a Rs 5.20-crore lift at the Marudhamalai Murugan temple in Coimbatore for the convenience of the devotees and the renovation of the tar road at the foothills of the hill at a cost of Rs 3.51 crore through video conferencing.



Coimbatore: Chief Minister M K Stalin today inaugurated the construction of an elevator at the Maruthamalai Murugan temple for the convenience of the devotees.

A large number of devotees from various parts of Tamil Nadu, including tirupur and Erode, are visiting the Maruthamalai Subramanya Swamy temple in Coimbatore.

Due to this, there is always a huge crowd at the Marudhamalai Murugan temple. Especially on special days, there will be a lot of crowding. In this situation, the devotees have been demanding that an elevator be set up at the Maruthamalai Murugan temple.

It was announced that the lift would be constructed at a cost of Rs 5.20 crore on the request of the public. Accordingly, the bhoomi pujan for the work of lifting the Maruthamalai Murugan temple at a cost of Rs 5.20 crore and the restoration of the tar road from the foothills of the hill to the hill temple at a cost of Rs 3.51 crore was held on Friday.

Chief Minister M K Stalin participated in the bhoomi pooja through video conferencing from Chennai and inaugurated the work.

District Collector Kranthi kumar Pati, Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department Deputy Commissioner Darshini, Deputy Mayor Vetri Selvan, Coimbatore District Forest Officer Jeyaraj and District Superintendent of Police Badri Narayanan were present.

Following this, the priests of the temple performed the yagya pooja by chanting the Vedic mantra and started the work.

DMK North district secretary Thondamuthur Ravi, Vadavalli area secretary Shanmuga Sundaram, taluk secretaries, councillors, party functionaries and the general public participated in the meeting.
