Miscreants set fire to roadside garbage near Dharapuram

Dharapuram fire brigade personnel fought for about two hours to bring the fire under control as the debris in the five-road area near Dharapuram caught fire. The police are on the lookout for the miscreants who set fire to the debris.


Tirupur: In a shocking incident, unidentified miscreants set fire to roadside garbage near Dharapuram in Tirupur.

Easwaran temple is situated on the banks of river Amaravathi on Karur road near Dharapuram five road junction in Tirupur district. More than 2,000 vehicles ply through the area every day.

In this situation, the people living in Dharapuram dump the garbage used on a daily basis and the restaurants, meat shops and various business shops in Dharapuram dump the garbage on the roadside every day.

There have been frequent incidents of these debris naturally catching fire due to the increase in temperature. It is also said that as there are two liquor shops on this road, anti-social elements who sit there at night and drink alcohol set themselves on fire.

Similarly, the miscreants set fire to the garbage and left it behind. The debris burned in it.



Dharapuram fire brigade personnel, who reached the spot after receiving information, fought for about two hours to bring the fire under control.



This often happens on the roadsides in Dharapuram. The public and social activists have urged the municipal administration to take steps to ensure that this does not happen further as the infection is caused by motorists and the general public by inhaling polluted air.
