There is a very famous Uchimariamman and Maakaliamman temple at Somavarapatti near Udumalpet. The festival is held annually in this temple. Special poojas are performed every day during the festival which began on the March 31st.

Somavarapatti near Udumalai in Tirupur district has a very famous temple of Uchimariamman and Maakaliamman. The festival is held annually in this temple.
On the occasion of Uchi Mariamman Temple festival, on the March 28th of last month, a pole planting ceremony and sakthi pooja with flowers were performed.
On the March 31st, a ceremony was held from Somavarapatti Vinayagar Temple to Thirumoorthy Hill to fetch the theertham.
Somavarapatti Vinayagar Temple to be brought with flowers and carried away with flowers, in the night, the public visits the temple with the parivattam, decorates the goddess and takes it with flowers. Shakti Kumbha is performed for Maakaliamman and in the morning there is a maavilakku taking ceremony for Amman and fireworks.
At night, a ceremony was held to pluck the pole and drop it into the Ganges. On Thursday the manjal neeraattu vizha ceremony, abishek and pooja will be performed.
