Tirupur: The 133rd birth anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar was celebrated at Dharapuram in Tirupur district. Ambedkar's birth anniversary is observed as Equality Day.
As part of this, on the occasion of ambedkar's 133rd birth anniversary, a decorated portrait of Dr. Ambedkar was garlanded at Periyar Thidal, on Udumalpet road by garlanding him under the leadership of dmk general council member Shanmugam.
Similarly, the 133rd birth anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar is being celebrated on behalf of the Tamilpuligal Katchi near anna statue.
Tamilpuligal Katchi district secretary Kalimuthu presided over the function near the Anna statue in Dharapuram and paid floral tributes in the evening.
Thereafter, they accepted the pledge of Equality Day.
