Teams setup in each district to prevent forest fires - Supriya Sahu, Addl Chief Secretary Environment Climate Change and Forests

Speaking to reporters at the Coimbatore airport, Addl Chief Secretary Environment Climate Change and Forests Supriya Sahu said, “4 to 5 teams have been formed in all the districts to prevent the spread of forest fires due to excessive heat during the summer season and there will be 20 to 25 teams in this segment.”


Coimbatore: Tamil Nadu's Addl Chief Secretary Environment Climate Change & Forests Supriya Sahu has said that four to five teams have been formed in each district to prevent forest fires during summer.

Addressing a press conference at the Coimbatore airport, Tamil Nadu's Addl Chief Secretary Environment Climate Change & Forests Supriya Sahu said, more than 200 people have been engaged in extinguishing the forest fire that has been raging near Alandurai in Coimbatore for the past five days.

Moreover, intensive measures are being taken to prevent the spread of forest fires due to high temperatures during summers. Four to five teams have been formed in all the districts as a preventive measure against forest fires. There will be 20 to 25 in each group. This is what she said.
