'Namma Ooru Superu' awareness rally in Coimbatore; district collector inaugurates

District Collector Kranthi kumar Pati inaugurated an awareness rally titled 'Namma Ooru Superu' at Ikkarai Boluvampatti panchayat in Coimbatore on Monday. Steps are being taken to conduct various welfare schemes and awareness programmes under this 'Namma Ooru Superu' scheme.


Coimbatore: District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati inaugurated an awareness rally titled 'Namma Ooru Supparu' at Ikkarai Boluvampatti in Coimbatore district.

An awareness rally on Namma Ooru Superu was held on Monday at Ikkarai Boluvampatti panchayat near Thondamuthur in Coimbatore. It was inaugurated by District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati and distributed pamphlets to the public.



Additional Collector (Development) Alarmel Mangai, Assistant Director (Panchayats) Basheer Ahmed, Ikkarai Boluvampatti Panchayat President Sadanandam, Block Development Officers and other government officials were present on the occasion.

In Coimbatore district, various activities will be taken up in all the 228 Village Panchayats in 12 Panchayat Unions under namma ooru superu scheme from May 1 to till June 15.

Accordingly, mass cleaning will be carried out in all public places from today to 15th with the help of cleanliness guards, NGOs, NNS and NCC students.

From May 8 to May 15, a medical camp will be conducted for sanitation workers and health workers with doctors. It will also be cleaned with MGNREGS personnel in connection with the cleaning and green village.

From May 15 to 27, awareness on water bodies and segregation of garbage and maintenance of hygiene will be carried out by women self-help group members and health coordinators.

From May 29 to June 03, awareness will be created in all panchayats with the help of Panchayat President, Panchayat Secretary, Deputy Block Development Officers and Block Development Officers to ban single use plastics and replace them with turmeric bags.

Health, water and waste management in schools and colleges will be undertaken by the Chief Educational Officer, Block Education Officer, Teachers and students. On behalf of the district administration, the public is requested to contribute in this project.
